Four checks before you hire any drone pilot

  1. FAA Part 107 certificate. Paid drone work requires a Remote Pilot Certificate. Look the pilot up by name in the free FAA Airmen Inquiry. How to verify a pilot
  2. Drone registration and Remote ID. Drones flown commercially must be registered with the FAA, marked with the registration number and compliant with Remote ID. Registration and Remote ID
  3. Airspace approval. Near airports, pilots usually need an authorization such as LAANC before flying, and temporary flight restrictions can change plans. Airspace and LAANC
  4. Insurance and deliverables in writing. Ask for a certificate of insurance and agree on files, turnaround and usage rights before the flight. Insurance questions · Full checklist
Pilot listings are coming soon. We will not publish placeholder or sample listings. Until the directory opens, use the Florida hiring guide with any pilot you are considering.
